Delia Montiel serves as the Coordinator for the Street Violence Response Team (SVRT), where she collaborates with key partners every week to ensure that individuals affected by street violence receive supportive services. As a member of the San Francisco Police Department’s Violence Reduction Initiative, Delia plays a crucial role in reviewing incidents of homicides, shootings, and critical assaults. She focuses on the enforcement’s response, community impact, and the needs of individuals and families affected by violence.
Before joining the SFPD, Delia worked with the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office as a victim advocate supervisor for over 20 years. She dedicated herself to providing guidance, resources, and compassionate care to victims of crime. Delia worked tirelessly to ensure that victims’ voices were heard, and their rights upheld, managing the emotional, legal, and practical challenges faced by survivors. Her extensive expertise in violence reduction and victim services will facilitate a meaningful and impactful discussion during the panel.
